  1. Valentine Day and Union meeting. I'll take the Valentines. Thanks but no Thanks for the invite to sit around and listen to one of the biggest morons in DC George Parker. Hope he washes his hands he grossed me out watching him dig in his nose during council hearing.

  2. Given the fact that you want the valentines and you use terms like "grossed me out" one can only imagine your age, hence the infantile response to a reasonable request.

  3. Moron is an understatement. What in the hell was the representative meeting about last night- oh I mean informational session. The Department of Labor and the FBI ought to be looking at WTU and the AFT once again.

  4. Blog Dectective,
What was infantile was Parker digging in his nose. My God get a Hankerchief. As far as age I was taught at 3 not to dig in my nose.

  5. Can someone give an update on the delegate assembly meeting yesterday? I could not stomach going there after a long day at work to hear more talk, talk, talk and so little action!

What is the WTU waiting for? Whatever is in the proposed contract will most likely not be agreed to by Rhee because although she is doing a little backtracking she still has convinced most people that many teachers need to be fired and the union is the problem.

  6. Keep erasing comments honey the executive board of WTU is full of stooges.

  7. Anonymous: It is easy to characterize the entire WTU executive board as stooges especially since you are hiding under anonyminity. This is typically what people do who are too cowardly to say what they have to say about others directly to their faces. I would venture to guess that you don't know many of the elected teacher representatives on the WTU Executive Board. Painting all members with one monolithic brush is absurd.

Might I suggest that if you have some valid concerns that you want to express(assuming that you are a WTU member), then feel free to come to our next WTU Representative Assembly meeting which will be held on Feb. 24th @ 4:30 pm at McKinley Senior High. Most of the executive board is generally in attendence at these meetings. You certainly will have the opportunity to express your concerns directly without the cover of anonyminity. I will look forward to seeing you there.

By the way on my personal blog, I reserve the right to edit and/or delete any comments I deem beligerant as stated under my blog rules. If that troubles you, find another blog, obviously this one just isn't for you. Happy Trails!

  8. Re: question on last week's meeting. WTU President Parker indicated that last week's meeting was an informational session and not a representative assembly meeting as many thought including me. Information was presented on the contract proposal.

It is my understanding that a regularly scheduled WTU representative assembly meeting will be held this month on the 4th Tuesday at McKinley on 2/24/09. AFT President Randi Weingarten will speak at the February membership meeting on 2/25/09. More details will be forthcoming to you. I do believe some changes may have been made due to Ms. Weingarten's schedule.

  9. Candi,
Unlike some anonymous people I've never been afraid to say what I have to say to people in blogs, to their face or anywhere else. I agree that some members of the executive board are stooges for George Parker. They serve no purpose outside of helping him play childish games with members lives. Is it true The last executive board meeting Parker even went far enough to spend thousands of dollars of legal work to silence a union offical from serving members? Parker is a weak coward. It's amazing that some members of the executive board don't have the courage or competence to stand up. It's disgusting. Lead follow or go sit your ... down somewhere. Question did he spend Union dues to attempt to silence union rivals? Most people who sign their names and their positions are critical of yours don't stay long on your blog. Matter of fact you've been awfully quiet lately. Scared of Furious George? He reminds of the old adage. "Monkey in a suit still a monkey."

  10. No I am not scared of our union president or any other man or woman for that matter. I do believe that none of us can fight every battle. Check out my blog entry on 2/17/09. I hope this answers your questions.
