ReplyDeleteGave fliers to my colleagues after Wednesday's meeting. twelve of us are coming down.
See you there!
Was going to go, but then I saw the announcement. After the arguable and extreme accusation that MR is "toying" with kids' lives, the more important agenda is apparent in the announcement. It is mostly about teachers and defending their compensation and tenure and jobs. I know that publicly funded employment is frequently viewed, and used, as a jobs program. And I am afraid that we look like we believe that DCPS is, first of all, a jobs program, rather than an education enterprise. It is surprising that WTU's president and Randi are not endorsing this, given the teacher-focused agenda. I will learn more Saturday by reading the long, proposed contract than by going downtown and being one more angry, demanding voice.
