One Hardy parent reported that her daughter came home in tears Tuesday evening after school only to explain that her teachers told her and other students that Patrick Pope is gone. What is strange about this recent turn of events, is that notice of the overnight change in administrators wasn't sent home to parents. As late as Monday, DC City Council members appealed to Rhee at the performance oversight hearing to reconsider retaining Pope as the school's administrator. So it seems that the many appeals to Rhee by parents, students and politicians have fallen on deaf ears. Stay tuned as more information unfolds on this story.

SO " ALL OF THE KING'S MEN AND ALL OF THE KING'S HORSES....." ARE GOING TO MAKE WHO ACCOUNTABLE TO STOP RHEE FROM GOING FORWARD WITH THIS CHANGE? So far, the City Council have only expressed their verbal concern regarding this matter. Now, let's see what action will take place! Remember, action (always) speak louder than words.
I think Mr. Pope has done a good job, too. But hasn't he trained a good staff who know how to run the school? I can't understand the concern about the school falling apart if he moves to another school.
Wow: Kinda glad this played out the way it did. It shows that Rhee really does not care about African American students or students who are not of a particular social economic status. It also shows that she has no respect for people; and she gets rid of excellent teachers and administrators. No one is safe oh; except her crew TFA. Hint to principals whose schools are slated to be re-built--get your resumes ready-- once a new school is built you are no longer needed: examples Hardy, Walker-Jones; Savoy; Webb
