Candi, check out on the dc wire blog of WaPo, Turque's lastest piece about a riffed counselor. He profiles a nationally board certified counselor who just got a pink slip from a high school. You may even know her as believe she's a veteran employee.

Ladies and Gentlemen, lets be clear on Michell Rhee and Adrian Fenty's plan. Their plan is to take livelihood from African-American and give the possessions of hard working African-Americans to Whites especially young Whites moving to Washington, DC. They do not care about your experience, or how many sacrifices you have made before you get to where you are. The bottom line is that, Whites need to money and pay off their loans by working with the city students. Her number of few whites does not add up, they have to put some of them in the list to cover up their unjust move. They came from all over the country to steal the fruit of our labor and they are using some of the African-Americans to do their unjust dirt. Tell me, what story do you want to tell your kids about all Rhee/Fenty attacks on African-Americans in DC Government? You may not realize the damages now but when you wake up, it may be too late. You tell me, how can someone who does not have a major or degree in a certain field do a better job than the ones with the professional degrees? All African-Americans and White that do not believe in slavery of another human being have to wake up and fight because this is another form of slavery.

I was a white teacher who was let go this past summer because OSSE did not process my paperwork in a timely manner. I submitted my application in March, tried many times to no avail to check on the status of my license. On the last day of school in June I was given a letter stating that I would be dismissed on 15 Aug. I spent a whole afternoon at OSSE trying to get this situation straightened out, lets just say I do not have a common last name. I was then told I needed to take a pedagogy test, two weeks from the next scheduled test date costing my an additional $80 or so. I hand dropped off my results as soon as I got them and finally received my license on 2 Oct where as my license is dated 2 September.
When people like anonymous start this white vs black thing it undermines the whole process. Last time I checked Fenty is African American and Rhee is of Korean descent. The more infighting teachers have the more Rhee does not have to worry about her positions, divide and conquer. I taught at a tough school, helped raise test scores from 9% to 25% and was voted by the students best teacher on my grade level. Either we put aside this racial stuff and work together for the common good for the students in DC or keep infighting in which the situation will never change.

To the fourth anonymous-I too agree with the third anonymous comment. Why is it that whenever a black person is telling the truth about what's going on in DCPS or the nation, some white people always says we are talking about race. I have both blacks and whites in my family and I am not afraid to say the truth. The Bible says "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. Therefore, say the truth and let the devil be ashame.

Candi,
I am so disappointed in you! I can't believe that you posted the comment written by Anon... about blacks and whites and slavery! Come on Candi...this is not a black or white thing and that post just makes things worse! I always thought that you made good judgements when it came to posting comments...This stuff that Rhee is doing in DCPS has nothing to do with race. She is Korean... for goodness sake.. if it was a race thing..she would be hiring Koreans!!! People, we must get over this and work towards getting our school system back in order! TOGETHER as ONE!!!

Candi printed the post because so many people believe it; a poster above even called it the truth. Many people believe that there's a plan for white people to take over DC and of course DCPS. Supposedly there are forces that want to give DC back to white people and that Fenty is leading the charge, as he does white people's bidding and ignores blacks. This is pathetic race-based paranoia from a people traumatized by a history of slavery, segregation, discrimination and marginalization within their own country. Through that historical lens, all things are viewed and nothing else computes. As real as the injustice is/was, that doesn't make such a plan true. And additionally, people shouldn't think as DCPS as a job source, but a place to serve and educate children, most of whom are poor and minority.
